2008 BMW X3
Wiper Blade Size
The 2008 BMW X3 uses 22"" and 20"" front wiper blades with a 14"" rear blade. The blades mount on bayonet (slide-on) arms. This is a mid-size configuration typical of hatchbacks and compact SUVs from this era.
The 2004–2010 BMW X3 all use the same wiper blade sizes, so any blade that fits the 2008 model will also fit these years.

Bayonet Installation Guide
Bayonet arms use a slide-on mounting system where the blade locks laterally onto the arm. This type is common on European vehicles, especially French manufacturers like Renault and Citroën. OEM-equivalent blades from Bosch or Valeo typically provide the best fit.
- 1 Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield.
- 2 Locate the release tab or locking mechanism on the bayonet adapter.
- 3 Press the release and slide the old blade laterally off the bayonet arm fitting.
- 4 Align the new 22"" driver-side blade with the bayonet slot and slide it on until it locks.
- 5 Give the blade a firm tug to ensure the bayonet lock is fully engaged.
- 6 Lower the arm back to the windshield.
- 7 Repeat on the passenger side with the 20"" blade.
- 8 Repeat the process for the 14"" rear blade. Rear blades often use a different adapter — check the packaging.
- 9 Spray washer fluid and cycle the wipers to verify smooth, streak-free operation.
Tips
• Bayonet arms are common on European vehicles, especially Renault, Peugeot, and Citroën models.
• The blade slides on laterally rather than hooking — make sure you slide in the correct direction.
• OEM-equivalent bayonet blades from Bosch or Valeo tend to fit more precisely than universal adapters.
Rear Wiper Blade
The 2008 BMW X3 has a 14"" rear wiper blade. Rear blades often use a different connector than the front blades — check the packaging for rear-wiper compatibility. Most auto-parts stores stock rear blades separately from front sets.
